National Workers Memorial Day

We pay our respects to all workers who have lost their lives at work. Every worker has the right to a healthy and safe workplace. That is why we will continue to advocate for national industrial manslaughter laws to make workplaces safer and hold employers to account for breaches of health and safety obligations.

“Safety should be a non-negotiable centrepiece of every workplace. This means protecting workers from psychological injury, physical injury and the completely preventable deaths that result from both.”  Jacqui Agius, ACT WHS Commissioner. It's up to each and every one of us to stand up for safety at work.

That means calling out unsafe work practices and systems of work and supporting your delegates, HSRs and workmates to make sure safety always comes first and everyone gets home safely.
